If you’re a connoisseur of fantastic music like myself…I know you you will enjoy the third effort from The Foreign Exchange. The duo, Phonte and Nicolay have been in heavy rotation on my iPod for about a year now…but even more since releasing their first single “Maybe She’ll Think Of Me.” Their new album “Authenticity”, available on iTunes today, is a breath of fresh air. If you’re looking for lyrical depth…please pick this one up. It is the perfect combination of R&B, Soul & Hip-Hop…well written verses, and impeccably produced tracks…an all-around solid effort.
A couple of my favorite tracks include “Laughing At Your Plans,” “The City Ain’t The Same Without You” and the Jesse Boykins III assisted “Make Me A Fool”.

In heavy rotation for the past week…The Foreign Exchange‘s track “Maybe She’ll Dream Of Me” is the lead single from their forthcoming album “Authenticity”…its got a real neo-soul-y type vibe that you can rock out to with your whole family after Sunday dinner…or in the backyard at your last Saturday cookout of the season.
When I listened to this record for the first time…it made me wonder if anyone was thinking these same thoughts about me (I know, I know…me and my sappy emotions…lol) …That’s how good it is…check it out and tell me what you think. Eric Benet has long been one of my favorite male singers. In fact…he has more songs on my “wedding” playlist than any other artist. That’s definitely an accomplishment.
Much to my excitement, and I’m sure to many others, he’s preparing for the release of a new album, and released a promo video for his latest single, “Sometimes I Cry” a few days ago. If you’re looking for some good, classic soul music, make sure you look out for Lost In Time when it hits stores in September…until then, enjoy “Sometimes I Cry”.
