The Weeknd has done a good job of keeping himself shrouded in a bit of secrecy. That’s a difficult task in the information age, but it worked out well for him. His mysterious persona kept listeners interested, and allowed them to focus on his music, rather than “the package.” His ascent to fame has been interesting, and now he’s banking on taking it to the next level.
The Toronto native is gearing up to release his debut full length album, and has released a video for his popular track “Wicked Games” which was previously released on his first mixtape “House Of Balloons”. Take a look at the black & white clip below:
“Wicked Games” is the lead single from “Trilogy” (via his XO imprint and Republic Records), which will feature the mastered versions of his three mixtapes “House Of Balloons”, “Thursday” and “Echoes of Silence”.
He’s also on tour… and having had an opportunity to take in his live show in Houston last week, I can definitely say that he’s going to be around for a while. His fan base is INSANE.
