Dee-1 is steadily carving his own lane in the world of hip hop. The New Orleans bred MC has been building a steady buzz for himself around the country, and has caught the attention of many heavy hitters. As his star continues to increase in brightness, so do the attempts to categorize his style, something that he adamantly rejects. He is a Christian, who is a rapper, but he’s not a “Christian Rapper”. He makes music to educate and inspire the people, encouraging the desire for some to place him in the “conscious” box… but his style also blends in the production quality and subject matter of more mainstream hip-hop. At the end of the day, Dee makes good music; music that provides a balance to what’s currently most popular in the industry.
