Let me preface this post by saying that I like Alicia Keys.
Unfortunately, this performance was a little, “meh”, for me. Part of it could be the fact that while I know that this song, “Girl On Fire”, is new, I feel like I’ve heard it from her before. That coupled with the fact that Nicki Minaj looked like Halloween Barbie last night, made for a very interesting night at the MTV Video Music Awards. Watch it for yourself below:
The best part of this was seeing Olympic Gold Medalist Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas come tumbling out of nowhere after Nicki Minaj’s “cuz I win the gold like Gabby” line. It’s nice to see that young lady shining.
