When one door closes, another one always opens… and for Terrence Jenkins (formerly known as Terrence J)… the new door is putting him a couple of floors higher.
After announcing his impending departure from his hosting gig at BET’s 106 & Park back in May, people have been buzzing about what would be next for the North Carolina native, and his co-host Rocsi Diaz. Now, after months of speculation, the ink is dry… and Terrence officially confirmed via Twitter that he would be sliding into a spot that was once held by entertainment mogul Ryan Seacrest.
Beginning November 12, Jenkins will join Giuliana Rancic as the permanent co-anchor of E! News. In the position, he’ll work on profile pieces, and reporting for the network. This opportunity will also allow Terrence the flexibility to continue with his burgeoning acting career (see his roles in Think Like A Man, Sparkle, and the 4th Season of BET’s The Game) and any other pursuits that he may want to tackle.
I, for one, think this is awesome. Moving from BET to E! is a major come-up, and it’s also a testament to what faith, hard work, and dedication can get you. Congrats Terrence, we wish you the best!
