Although the rumors about Drake executive producing a new Aaliyah album have not been formally confirmed, yesterday’s release of this new track, ‘Enough Said‘ definitely fanned the flames. The track, produced by Noah “40″ Shebib, is comprised of unreleased Aaliyah vocals, and a very aggressive verse from Drake. Listen below.
So here’s the thing. Had this track just been, say… Aaliyah, alone? It would have been good. I think the production is kinda wack, but it’s Drake’s verse that truly adds nothing of value to the song. With all of the profanity… it was just a bit much for me.
Since Aaliyah’s masters are owned by Universal/Blackground Records, Drake doesn’t legally have to get her family’s permission to do this… but I think he should. And that family, includes Timbaland & Missy, in my opinion. But what do I know? I’m just a girl who blogs. We’ll see how it all plays out. For now, I’m not feeling it.
What do you think? Do you like Aaliyah & Drake together on a track?
