In just over an hour, Serena Williams finished Russia’s Maria Sharapova [winning 6-0, 6-1] in the Olympic Women’s Tennis Final today in London. With the victory, Serena became only the second woman (after Steffi Gaff) to win a career Golden Slam (all four major Grand Slams + a Gold Medal) in singles. After a series of really intense stares throughout the match (affectionately hashtagged as #SerenaDeathStare on Twitter) Serena’s elation after winning manifested in the form of a tribute to her hometown of Compton, CA.
