The nominations for the 2012 BET Awards were announced today via a press conference live-streamed from New York City. Hosted by Samuel L. Jackson, and featuring performances from Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj & more… this year’s show will be “Too Big To Miss”.
Beyonce, off of the strength of her latest album 4, ties with Kanye West to lead all nominees with 6 nods each; including two in one of the most coveted categories, video of the year. The Throne (Jay-Z, Kanye West) trail close behind, picking up 5 nods for their collaborative efforts on songs like “Otis” and “…… In Paris”. BET VP Stephen Hill also acknowledged that there would be a musical tribute to the late, great Whitney Houston. As always, nomination eligibility is determined by who submitted videos to the network throughout the course of the year-long eligibility period. Check out the full list of nominees below.
