After a long battle with cancer, legendary disco queen Donna Summer has passed away.

According to sources who spoke with TMZ, Ms. Summer was finishing up a new album which she had planned to release soon.

Over the span of her career, Summer earned five GRAMMY Awards, six American Music Awards, and placed a Top 40 single on the Billboard charts every year from 1975-1984.

Her contributions to the world of dance music will never be forgotten.
