Gabrielle Union has been doing her thing as a leading lady on the big screen for a while now, but she’s about to make a return to the small screen in a major way. She’s been tapped for the lead role in “Single Black Female” an hour long comedic pilot penned by Mara Brock-Akil as a part of the Akil’s landmark content production deal with BET. Union will play a popular Atlanta-based TV talk show host (think along the lines of Ellen DeGeneres) and the show will follow her family and personal life.
The Akil’s have been taking a lot of heat for the changes that have been made to The Game, but I’m willing to give this one a shot. What do you think? Will you be watching?

I definitely will! I think Ms. Union is such not just an amazing black actress, but actress period! I’m happy she’s getting her chance to shine solo!
