Jay-Z To Become 1st Solo Hip-Hop Artist To Headline Carnegie Hall

2011 has been good to Shawn Carter. Not only has he released an album with his little brother Kanye West that’s gone platinum, he’s headlining a tour that’s bringing in over 1.5Mil a night, he’s officially taken the New Jersey Nets to his hometown of Brooklyn (starting next season)… oh, yeah, and… his wife’s pregnant with his first child.

As if this wasn’t enough Jay announced today, in a groundbreaking move, that he would be the very first solo artist to headline the famed Carnegie Hall, when he performs two benefit concerts for United Way and his non-profit organization, The Shawn Carter Foundation. Over the past 8 years, the SC Foundation has provided over 2 Million in scholarship money for 750 students.

Rap Radar was on hand to capture the announcement. Watch the video below:

The shows will take place February 6th & 7th, 2012. Stay tuned for more details!
