“WEEN FOR HAITI: WATER and AID COLLECTION EVENT”
TO SUPPORT THE VICTIMS OF THE DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKE
NEW YORK, NY - January 14, 2010 - The Women In Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN) presents WEEN for Haiti: A Water & Aid Collection Event taking place on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 5-11 p.m. at Katra Lounge (217 Bowery Street) in New York City. All proceeds and water collected will go directly to Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti foundation & Doctors without Borders, the recipient of aNobel Peace Prize in 1999.
“It is in times like these that our humanitarian strength is tested. This catastrophe is a wake up call and it is our responsibility to tap into our resources to support our sisters and brothers in Haiti. In the spirit of our mission, WEEN members will join forces to help restore the lives of all affected by this unfortunate disaster,” declared Valeisha Butterfield, Co-founder and Chair of WEEN, “this is one of many steps we are taking to do our part.”
