UPDATE 6/9/09: Late Monday/Early Tuesday Trey released another remix track…DOA (Death of Kellz Autotune). The song had bloggers in an uproar on Tuesday morning, because they were under the impression that Songz was dissing R&B legend R. Kelly. Upon my first listen, I could not have agreed less with the general consensus. If you follow me on twitter, you know that I said that the whole thing was an encouragement/cry for the “old” R. Kelly to return, because he was playing to the masses and not living up to his full potential…a few hours later, Trey dropped this response on his personal blog:

“ First off, anyone who is familiar with my history knows I’m a HUGE R. Kelly fan & have been inspired by him since my early beginnings musically. So while some may take this as disrespect, those who truly listen to the lyrics will understand my urging him to go harder.”
